About project:

The project "Inclusive Paths" will bring together the association "Raibais kaķis" from Latvia and YOUTH COUNCIL NEXT GENERATION SKOPJE from North Macedonia to strengthen inclusion and diversity in youth work.

The project will directly involve youth workers, youth leaders, educators, youth participants and facilitators from Latvia and North Macedonia. Young people aged 13-29.

Project Duration: 01.09.2026 - 29.02.2028.

Project Aim:

The main aim of the project is to strengthen youth workers' competences in inclusion and introduce high-quality, accessible simulation methods into their daily work with young people, with particular attention to young people with fewer opportunities. The project also aims to promote cooperation between organisations from different countries.

Project Objectives:

Organise a five-day study visit in Latvia for 10 youth workers to observe inclusive simulation activities and prepare a joint digital report. Participants will use an observation grid to assess accessibility, balanced participation, safeguarding, outcomes, and the quality of the debriefing process.

Implement a learning activity for at least 10 youth workers — five participants from each country aged 18 or above. At least 80% of the participants are expected to improve their competences in inclusion. Progress will be measured through pre- and post-training self-assessments, a trainer's evaluation, and an individual implementation plan.

Organise local workshops led by the participants of the study visit and learning activity. Each partner will implement at least two piloting cycles — at least four workshops in total — involving young people with fewer opportunities. Each workshop will include a briefing, simulation activity, debriefing session, and accessible anonymous feedback.

Develop a multilingual Simulation Handbook in English, Latvian, and Macedonian. The handbook will contain at least 40 pages and 12 activities, including facilitation guidance and feedback from the testing process. All 12 methods will be tested in practice, with each partner testing at least six simulations and developing adaptations for language barriers, disability access, trauma sensitivity, and mixed groups.

Organise four dissemination workshops — two in each country — for at least 50 youth workers, educators, facilitators, and youth leaders. Each workshop will consist of 12 hours delivered over two days and will include at least four simulations, debriefing sessions, and practical templates. One follow-up support call will be provided after each workshop. The workshops are expected to indirectly reach more than 100 young people with fewer opportunities.

Ensure that at least 10 youth organisations implement the handbook methods in their work, with the aim of reaching 25 organisations within 12 months. The organisations will receive a starter pack and quarterly online support sessions. The handbook will remain openly available for at least five years, and the project results will be published on the Erasmus+ Project Results Platform.

Expected Results:

A Simulation Handbook with at least 12 methods will be developed, tested in practice and made available in three languages.

At least 10 youth workers will improve their knowledge and skills in facilitating inclusive activities.

More than 50 local youth professionals will participate in the dissemination workshops.

At least 100 organisations will receive the handbook, and at least 10 organisations will begin using its methods in their work.

The four dissemination workshops will indirectly reach more than 100 young people with fewer opportunities.

Long-term cooperation between the Latvian and North Macedonian partners will be strengthened, contributing to higher-quality inclusive youth work across Europe.
